Terms of Service
Last updated June 9, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Nalee (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Nalee app or website, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Disclaimer, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Nalee. Nalee is an independent product; entity details will be updated here when our company formation completes (before paid launch).
1. Who can use Nalee
You must be at least 13 years old (16 if you live in the European Union), and at least 18 to purchase a subscription; younger users need a parent or guardian to subscribe for them. By using Nalee you confirm you meet these requirements.
2. What Nalee is
Nalee helps you understand what is in everyday products by scoring them from open public data with a transparent, published method. The Nalee Score is our independent opinion, built from cited sources. It is an informational tool, not a certification, lab test, or guarantee.
3. Not medical or safety advice
Nalee does not provide medical, health, nutritional, or safety advice. A Nalee Score is not a diagnosis, prescription, or safety certification, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Always read the actual product label, especially if you have allergies or medical conditions.
4. Accuracy
Much of our data comes from open, third-party sources we do not control. We work hard to be accurate, we never knowingly use fabricated data, and when data is missing we show that rather than invent it, but we cannot promise every detail is complete or current. A “Nalee Verified” badge means we reviewed the entry against its sources, not that we guarantee an outcome. Brands and users who believe something is wrong can write to esdronski@gmail.com with evidence, and we will review and correct verified errors promptly.
5. Independence
No brand can pay to change a score or its ranking. We take no money from the companies we rate, run no ads, use no affiliate links, and never sell your data. Nalee is funded by its members.
6. Your license to use Nalee
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and your subscription benefits. To be plain: a digital subscription is a license to access the service while your subscription is active, not ownership of anything, and it ends when your subscription or these Terms end.
7. Your content
When you post to the community or send a submission, you keep ownership, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use it to operate and improve Nalee, including showing community posts publicly. You promise that you took or own any photo you submit and that your content does not violate anyone’s rights. Do not post anything unlawful, misleading, infringing, or abusive. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Copyright complaints go to esdronski@gmail.com; we respond to valid DMCA notices and may terminate repeat infringers.
8. Acceptable use
Do not scrape, reverse engineer, resell our data, abuse rate limits, probe our security, or use Nalee to disparage brands with fabricated claims. The product database, scores, and methodology are our property or used under open-data licenses (Open Food Facts data, for example, under the ODbL).
9. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation
- The plan. Nalee Inner Circle costs $3.99 per month or $29.99 per year (prices may vary by region and store). Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period and your payment method is charged the then-current price.
- Where you bought it matters. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed there, in your store subscription settings. If you subscribed on our website through Stripe, you manage it with us.
- Before you pay, we show you the price, the renewal period, that the plan auto-renews, and how to cancel, and we only charge after you affirmatively accept those terms. We keep a record of your consent.
- Canceling is as easy as joining. Web subscribers can cancel anytime in Account → Manage subscription with a couple of clicks, no phone call and no retention maze, or by emailing esdronski@gmail.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then.
- Free trials, if offered, convert to a paid plan at the disclosed price unless canceled before the trial ends; we will tell you the conversion date before you start.
- Reminders and price changes. We send annual subscribers a renewal reminder before each renewal. If we ever raise the price, we will notify you in writing at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect; where the law requires it, we will get your consent or offer a refund window with a pro-rata refund.
- Refunds are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these Terms.
10. Apple and Google
If you use the iOS app, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, has no warranty obligation, and is not responsible for any claims about the app; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. The same structure applies to Google for the Android app.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nalee is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content or your violation of these Terms.
14. Disputes
Before filing any claim, you agree to email esdronski@gmail.com and give us 30 days to work it out informally; most things can be fixed with a conversation. Claims that qualify may be brought in small-claims court. Governing law and venue will be specified here when our company formation completes (before paid launch), and material changes will be announced per Section 17.
15. Termination
You can stop using Nalee and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content license, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes) survive termination.
16. Boilerplate that matters
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in a merger or sale. These Terms, plus the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between us.
17. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms and will post changes here with a new date; for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Questions: esdronski@gmail.com.
